Applied Physics, ActCel and Boy Scouts

2023 brings in a groundbreaking collaboration of Applied Physics, Pakistan Scouts Association, and ActCel. This partnership brings together cutting-edge science, youth leadership, and innovative technology to empower scouts and communities alike in the crucial skill of managing accidental bleeding effectively. Leveraging expertise in physics, this collaboration seeks to introduce scientific precision to the vital field of emergency medical response. We are pleased to address a critical aspect of emergency preparedness – Bleeding control management.

About Applied Physics

Applied Physics pioneers have advancements in scientific research and technology applications. Applied Physics is a leading global metrology supplier to pharmaceutical and semiconductor companies.

The Boy Scouts Commitment

As stewards of leadership development, Scouts of Pakistan are dedicated to instilling invaluable life skills in their members. This collaboration reflects their commitment to fostering a generation equipped with essential first aid and emergency response knowledge.

Scouts undergo intensive training to master vital lifesaving skills, such as applying ActCel® Gauze to manage bleeding incidents. Teaming up with medical experts, they engage in simulated scenarios to sharpen their ability to respond promptly and efficiently to emergencies.

Furthermore, Scouts foster a culture of service, going beyond their group to aid communities during crises. Whether it’s offering aid in natural disasters, assisting the injured, or promoting health and safety, Scouts are always prepared to help where it’s needed most.

ActCel®

For more than 20 years ActCel has been providing bleed control management. ActCel® topical hemostatic gauze quickly and efficiently manages bleeding. ActCel® turns to gel that fills open vessels to control bleeding. It is an effective dressing made from regenerated cellulose that turns into gel. When applied, ActCel® gauze manages topical wounds and quickly limits bleeding.

The Impact

Bleed Control Workshops

Applied Physics experts, in collaboration with ActCel will conduct workshops for Pakistan Scouts Association, introducing them to the principles and management of bleed control. Scouts will acquire the knowledge and skills to respond effectively to bleeding emergencies, potentially saving lives in various scenarios.

Applied Physics Merit Badges

Scouts actively participating in the program will have the opportunity to earn specialized merit badges in Applied Physics for Bleed Control, recognizing their proficiency in this life-saving skill.

Scouts will engage in simulations using ActCel bleed control management systems. These simulations will provide real-world scenarios for scouts to practice and refine their emergency response skills.

Community Outreach

The collaboration extends beyond scouts. ActCel, with the support of Applied Physics and the Boy Scouts, will facilitate community outreach programs, providing bleed control training to local residents and organizations.

Join Us in Building a Safer Tomorrow

Scouts will engage in hands-on simulations using ActCel’s bleed control management systems. These simulations will provide real-world scenarios for scouts to practice and refine their emergency response skills.
